Zurück in Tahiti
Gestern Nacht sind wir nach einem gemütlichen, aber recht langsamen Törn bei Point Venus auf Tahiti angekommen. Wir haben am letzten Tag noch einen Wahoo gefangen und der Kühlschrank ist voll mit Filets und Steaks Jetzt machen wir uns für unseren alljährlichen Ersatzteil- und Bunkermarathon bereit.

Last night we arrived after a pleasant, but rather slow sail at Point Venus in Tahiti. We caught a Wahoo on the last day and the fridge is filled up with filets and steaks Now we’re getting ready for our yearly provisioning and spare-part marathon.

Gestern sind wir mit dem letzten Licht aus dem seichten Pass von Faaite hinaus motort und haben dann Segel Richtung Tahiti gesetzt (240 Seemeilen). Wind und See waren noch ganz ruhig und haben dann nach und nach zugenommen, sodass wir jetzt recht schnell, aber noch mit ruhiger See unter einem sonnigen Himmel dahin segeln. Yesterday we motored out through the shallow pass of Faaite with the last light and set sail towards Tahiti (240 nm). We set out in calm conditions and the wind has gradually picked up, so that we’re sailing along swiftly, but in still rather calm seas under sunny skies. Faaite
Wir sind gestern Nachmittag in Faaite angekommen. Wir sind heute durch das hübsche Dorf spaziert (nur 400 Leute leben hier) und haben einen Termin mit dem Bürgermeister ausgemacht. Wir haben ihn nach dem Status von Tahanea gefragt und herausgefunden, dass die Leute von Faaite das Nachbaratoll eher als “eiserne Reserve” zur Nahrungsmittelversorgung sehen und nicht so sehr als Naturpark. Stopover in Faaite
We came in to Faaite yesterday afternoon. We took a walk around the lovely little village today (just 400 people live here) and arranged an appointment with the mayor. We asked about the status of Tahanea, found out that the people of Faaite see it rather as a food reserve than a nature reserve and tried to convince the mayor to actively protect the bird… Continue reading »

Wir verlassen Tahanea
Heute haben wir den Wecker auf 3 Uhr gestellt und sind schon um 4 Uhr früh beim westlichsten Pass von Tahanea hinaus gesegelt. Die Nacht wurde vom immer noch fast vollen Mond hell erleuchtet, aber ich war trotzdem ein bissl nervös, weil wir noch nie durch diesen Pass gefahren sind.
